35/30 [MF4F] #MPLS - Dating Singles as a Couple is Hard... You up to try?

2020.09.19 04:36 damionblackgear 35/30 [MF4F] #MPLS - Dating Singles as a Couple is Hard... You up to try?

Before I finish my copy/pasta...
I was really tempted not to post here because I almost feel like it sounds like we're unicorn hunting. We're not. We're looking for a woman who'd be interested in dating US. Together and separately. For better or worse. And by dating I mean Actually Dating and hopefully growing to more than just a bar buddy.
That being said...
I am the husband (35) to a loving wife (30). We're happily married and have 4 kids together. That being said, My birthday (turning 36) is coming up and my wife brought up my idea of including another woman (No Men or former men please) into our lives with, hopefully, something close to regularity.
Since I have a reddit account and have chatted with some of the people here in DMs, I'm posting here from my account. (She's going the tindebumble route)
I work IT (from home) and coach youth sports in my off time. I'm in moderately decent shape and extremely ticklish... please don't tickle me. I like most movies but admittedly don't read books... as often as I should. I play DND and anything else I can get my hands on (board, video, or tabletop). My sense of humor always seems to put a smile on her face so... I think I'm funny. My normal face is a scowl but I'm probably wondering about how a 5 ounce bird carries a 1 pound coconut.
She works for a 3rd party company that manages services for disabled persons throughout Hennepin county (from home). She's the soccer mom for the other kids when I'm not coaching them. She is a curvy woman who loves to cook, crochet, and corset. She passes time with cooking & crime shows (i.e Hell's Kitchen and Law and Order). She reads WAY more than I do (mostly comfy mysteries) and comes off as more aggressive with new people than me but is nice after you say, "Hi".
We're looking for a woman who's between 21-40...ish in moderately decent shape and willing to enjoy spending time with a couple. We're going to insist that some type of getting to know each other happens before anything else and I'm still hesitant for this so I suggest we do PG video chat to start vs exchanging pics. If we do meet up I'm going to likely suggest visiting our local watering hole.

2020.07.09 13:59 MinosDub Web/Cloud Programming Versus Software Development

Hey everyone,
I recently got offered a place on two courses. One covers web and cloud technologies and the other is centred more around software development. Anyone have any idea on what might be the better one to go for in terms of future career options?
The Web & Cloud Tech course covers the following:
● Demonstrate an understanding of how underlying virtualization technologies function
● Critically evaluate multi-tenancy and deployment models
● Evaluate data storage models & have up-to-date knowledge on established and emerging cloud technologies
● Evaluate platforms in order to create, design and develop a server side web application with database integration
● Demonstrate proficiency in document mark-up languages particularly XML
● Develop Web-based applications using .NET framework and specifically ASP.NET
● Design, configure & manage a switched network. Implementing a hierarchical structure, loop avoidance, switch convergence and VLANS
● Design & Implement an IP addressing scheme for a network
● Understand and describe the operations & functions of a router & its critical role within networking
● Demonstrate in-depth understanding of WAN technologies, from Frame Relays to MPLS toMetro Ethernet
While the software course covers these areas:
● Design and build mobile applications using Google’s Android open-source platform
● Design, implement, test & document advanced Object-Oriented Programs
● Apply advanced data structures
● Construct event-driven Graphical User Interfaces
● Evaluate platforms in order to create, design and develop a server side web application with database integration
● Demonstrate proficiency in document mark-up languages particularly XML
● Develop Web-based applications using .NET framework and specifically ASP.NET

2020.06.22 04:58 H4ppyP4nts NEW TO MPLS: Best neighborhoods for young professionals?

It may not be the ideal time for relocation, but I will be moving to Minneapolis (from Chicago) around August 1st for a new job.
I’m reaching out for advice on what MPLS neighborhoods are best for young professionals for myself (24F) and my boyfriend (25M). I’ll be working near the MSP International Airport once COVID-19 return to office dates are set. My boyfriend is still on the job hunt. We will have 1 car so we will likely be reliant on public transportation, to some extent at least.
I’ve been set on Uptown for no reason beyond the limited research I’ve done, but I’m having second thoughts given the recent news and unrest. I’m not too picky on specifics, but I’d like an area with good restaurants/bars, grocery options, public transit accessibility, safe neighborhood, etc. A younger presence would be nice as well. Let me know what you would suggest.
Thank you so much!
EDIT: I mistakenly said I would be working near central downtown due to a miscommunication. I will actually be working near the airport. The post now reads correct.
Also, we’re more into breweries or a relaxed night out drinking rather than getting completely hammered at overpriced bars. I had enough of that in college. We’re a little more on the introverted/laid back side, but still like to go out.

2020.06.11 01:23 butterrytoast Step 1 notes for 263

Nothing too novel about this post but sharing my perspective and some notes in case it helps someone.
Pre-dedicated/school year
I did Zanki/AnKing with Zanki Pharm, lolnotacop micro and Dorian anatomy. Started August 20 and missed 0 days of reviews until May 29 when I sat for exam. At worst, I probably had 1100-1200 reviews/day. Really cannot overemphasize the value here. IMHO there is no better way to comprehensively prepare. It sucked, but it works. It is the most surefire way to drop a badass score.
Academic background
Did not attend class but am (inexplicably) still top 25%. Scored 512 on MCAT. Finished USMLERx during school year along with organ blocks.
Dedicated
“Dedicated” was April 1-May 29. Since my whole year was practically dedicated, I marked finishing Zanki as the official start.
Started UW during dedicated. Did random timed 2x40Q back-to-back every day at the same time except practice test and subsequent practice test review days. Did not look at first block percentage until done with both blocks to simulate exam. They started adding questions, so my last week I did 120/day similar style and Finished UW 1 week before exam. Only did one pass of UW and then did like 200 of my wrongs - found doing wrongs mostly unhelpful since I had done Anki cards for wrongs, so gave it up. Instead I hit stats, biochem, psych, ethics hard to shore up some weaknesses. Approximately Average day was:
6:30-8:30: Anki cards w breakfast 8:30-11: 2x40 UW blocks 11-3/4: review UW blocks 4-8/9: Anki reviews 9ish: Netflix and bed.
Repeat daily for 2 months
Took practice tests (pretty much) weekly on Fridays and reviewed them on Saturdays. No UW on practice test or practice test review days. Took Friday night after Anki reviews and Saturday morning off. Managed to avoid cancellation but my original center wasn’t open, so I moved my date. Ended up mostly working out smoothly. My girlfriend’s exam got moved like 8 times; I truly feel for all of you who got the Prometric shaft.
The Hard Numbers
(School mandated) NBME 20 - 3/20 - 238 UWSA1 - 4/10 - 266 NBME 23 - 4/24 - 250 NBME 24 - 5/1 - 254 NBME 22 - 5/8 - 246 NBME 21 -5/15 - 250 Finished 1st pass UW - 5/21 - 90.4% UWSA2 - 5/22 - 273 Free120 - 5/27 - 93% Real deal - 5/29 - 263
Score predictor was 261.xx [95% CI: 248-275]
The real test
Thought it was super challenging and not like UWSA2. Question style felt unique kindof like UW or NBME but also just different in a way I can’t quite describe. Legitimately mentally prepped myself for a score 20 points lower than this. I took exam during MPLS riots, so my prometric lady told me at check in “you better go fast cause me might be closing early”, which was exactly not what I needed to hear. I FLEW through the exam because I was not about to be cancelled midway. But I suppose it worked out. But seriously lady, why would you say that??
Last notes - dedicated was very challenging; go easy on yourself. I ate way too much takeout but I didn’t have energy to cook, so I spent the money. I don’t regret it. - Try to eat fruits and veggies. I found it oddly challenging. - UW biostats was valuable to me; I have no biostats background - I tried to get outside/exercise but coronavirus quarantine made it challenging. Would not recommend COVID quarantine + Step 1 dedicated mashup lol - Don’t check answers post-test. Seriously. Just don’t do it.
Feel free to ask Qs - on vacation, but happy to answer best as possible. On mobile so sorry of formatting is shitty

Courteney Ross, the girlfriend of the late George Floyd, is speaking out amid the protests in Minneapolis after he was murdered while being arrested.
In an interview with the Star-Tribute of Minnesota, Courteney, who had been dating Floyd for three years before his death, plead for peace.
Courteney said she wants the protesters “to know that I understand their frustration. … I want people to protest in a peaceful way.”
“I am heartbroken,” she added. “Waking up this morning to see Minneapolis on fire would be something that would devastate Floyd… He loved the city. He came here [from Houston] and stayed here for the people and the opportunities. … Floyd was a gentle giant. He was about love and about peace.”
A lawyer for Floyd‘s family said that they thank the protesters “for joining them in standing for justice, [but] we also cannot sink to the level of our oppressors, and we cannot endanger each other as we respond to the necessary urge to raise our voices in unison and outrage.”

2020.05.01 06:28 Naturalsnotinit Payphones?

Does anyone know if any payphones still exist in the city? I tried the payphone project, but it's this hilarious thing where there are eight different spellings of mpls and none of it is up to date/all just PO boxes.

2020.04.28 10:12 Busbyuk Retiring a Cisco 6504e. Replacing with a C9500-48Y4C

Due to the costs involved in getting a new supervisor card for our Cisco 6504E so it can support 40Gb interfaces and the fact it's pretty much EOL, we are looking at replacing our Cisco 6504E's.
At the moment they are just core routers (BGP Free core). So they are simply running OSPF, handling LDP (MPLS-L3) and that's it.
They are just pushing packets/labels.
As such the replacements will be doing the same thing. As long as they can handle MPLS/LDP, OSPF then it should be fine.
I've been looking at the C9500-48Y4C as these have 4 x 40Gb/100Gb ports as well as the oppurtunity to add an expansion at a later date if needed.
I've used the Cisco compare/product feature and it seems to have everything we need. What's throwing me however is the cost. It's much cheaper than even the Supervisor card would have probably been for the 6504E.
I know Cisco are pushing this product line and it's probably not marketed towards what we are going to be using them for but they do tick the boxes we need.
Has anyone used these switches? Any issues or bugs I should be aware of, or any reason I'm crazy for looking at doing this?
thanks

2020.04.25 09:15 hariskhan218 Passed @ 100 on 23rd

Hi all,
I wanted to inform that i have finally passed the CISSP exam(1st attempt). It was really a roller coster type ride. The questions arrive easier in the beginning but later on they become insanly difficult bult later on they start to become easier again.
This forum helped me knowing what people are doing arround with the exam.
Preparation material use:
Start date of preparation: 12 March 2019
Read AIO 8th edition cover to cover (3 times)
Sybex 8th only 1 time read. People said its quite simple and best book. But my mind kept on denying that still felt great desire to read AIO again and again. Every time i repeated AIO i learnt new way of see certain security matter.
1st time when i read i didn't know what she wants to say i only started to understand what i use to do in my job role but not everything.
2nd time i started understanding topics titles and then started to remember things.
3rd time read: i started to build relation on topics and subtopics like BCP contains many plans and DRP is one of them.
------------------------------------------------------------
Background
------------------------------------------------------------
Video and audio material used:
Saw kelly handerhan cissp the old version and my mind started to deny that she is a woman and blessed with such precious knowledge. But slowly i made my self convinced well she is pretty good and she knows alot much better other many people. I also saw her 2018 version that was good too. She has grown old (:)) Recommendations: 10/10
Saw her videos for like 10 times and i started to like her style alot.
ITPROTV sessions by Adam: 70 hours of videos, i could neither digest nor could i understand his fast pace speakup so dropped it (6/10). Sorry Adam you are very good person but the review could be becasue i am not native. There are many followers of your course. at least many in US.
Thor videos: They are good but very very very technical. I used it to gain clear some knowledge gaps (7/10).
-----------------------------------------------------
Exam situations:
48hours before exam i started to build extreme anxiety that started to affect my study performance and also my memory. I overcame it by not studying a lot However i already had revised 6 domains from the book by then and i decided to not revise dom 3 and dom 4. as i already read those the number of times and i also used to be network and systems engineer once in life. That night i didn’t sleep all night.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
24hours before exam:
My mind couldn't accept any more revisions but i still forced to see dom4 i skimmed that but was not understanding what i was reading. All because of hugely accumulated anxiety and depression. I thought if i didn’t sleep tonight i would not make the good exam so took some sleep pills and removed anxiety.
ON the day of test :
I was fresh with solid 6 hours sleep.
I only saw Lerry tips x2
saw kelly handerhan x10
and reached testcenter for the exam.
------------------------------------------------------------------
At the exam:
initial questions were easy 1 liner and 1 line answer and ansered them technically but after q2 i realized the kelly tip remember you will be forced to answer technical so stay out of it.
I also use Larry time to consider risk , time and money answering any question and you will be fine.
by time i reached question 30 i was so overwhelmed and i couldn’t interpret the question , it started to take like 5 or 6 times read to partially understand the question by that time i was lost but after taking a minute set back and retrying with clean mind and started to answer the question to some extent at q 50 i started to realize, i am going to fail
it , by question 60 i started to decide well i have lost my money i will have to pay back my loan chunks that i had taken from my friends for this exam, after q80 , exam started to get easier question by question by the time i reached question 99, i had 40 minutes to answer 50 questions, i realized it takes me 2 mins minimum to answer the question i am not gona make it to 150 so its for sure i am dead man by 120 questions. but as i answered question 100 exam ended.
I thought i failed i didn’t see the result and didn’t even saw in the exam coordinator's eye to judge my result i jut took my belongings and got have to my office. When i opened the letter in my office, i couldn't believe on my eyes that i have made it. Passed it.
About questions:
40% question were technical in my prospect as i couldnt find any managerial type answer in all the choices
example:
What is the best way you can stop the fan in your room from swinging
a turn off the switch
b cut off the power cable going to fan
c turn off the main power supply
d cut the utility
I had no choice but to select a in that case.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question bank used
I used Sybex practice test, Shon Harris AIO and very few boson questions on group. Never tested myself on boson. In my suggested boson writeup was bit matching the exam format. BEST WORST LEAST MOST.
60% managerial question in those question i always found myself fighting for the best of the two answer.
-----------------------------------------------------
My experience
11 years total experience
3 years Linux system engineer
1 year Network security engineer
2.5 years Network consultant
1 year Core IP/MPLS engineer with principal
4 years as Security consultant. I touched almost every domain in this role.
How did you take the exam in Lockdown?
I came from a developing country where government cannot tolerate the lockdown for long so we have partial lock down enforced in country. In my city there are 200 people infected so risk was less. The testcenter guys supported in making the environment as clean as possible by doing checks and ensuring sanitizers.
I have to apply for endorcement Can somone help in telling me what could be the procedure and doccumantion needed for application?.

2020.02.04 03:17 WizardsDoesntCare MPL Rules are already poorly enforced.

In the recent rules announcement for the MPL WOTC said that MPL members were not allowed to be employees or family of employees at Wizards of the Coast. So it seems kind of weird that Reid Duke is eligible for the MPL despite his brother being a Wizards employee. More importantly, however, is the fact Emma Handy was given a special invite to Rivals despite the fact she is dating a member of Magic's Play Deisgn team. Something to think about.

2020.02.01 22:39 dinb1985 AITA for moving 1600 miles away without telling my family?

This is kind of a crazy story.
When I was in high school I got bored with where I grew up in North Dakota. I got into some really underground punk derived music. There wasn't much where I lived or many tour dates so I only got to go to one show like every 2-3 months. And no cool record stores to buy vinyl.
My dream was to live in New Brunswick, NJ, home of many bands and basement shows and cited in many songs. My parents told me NJ was a high tax, high crime polluted state and I wouldn't enjoy it. Whatever the case I started obsessing over the place and vowed to visit there. I took a gap year after high school and worked at Target full time so I saved up tons since I had no expenses living at home and had tons of graduation money. I also became very close with an internet message board and people involved in the scene.
One day a guy from New Brunswick posted about someone at a punk house he lived in was moving out and they would be short on money for now until they could find a new roommate and vented a bit. It hit me. My dream had come. I mssged him and said I could move in when he left. Yes from ND. I told my parents I wanted to do this. They told me I was crazy and thought I was joking. For 6 weeks I planned for it, secretly packing things, reserved a bus ticket to Minneapolis, a plane ticket to NYC and train ticket to NJ, and went to temp agencies to work other jobs on my off days to save up money. I worked 7 days a week for over a month and discreetly put in my 2 weeks notice.
So then the day came. I was packed up, got a cab to the bus depot, and headed out to Mpls. I left a note behind and told my parents I'd text along the way but that I would be in NJ in 24 hours. I got a few calls from them that I ignored and only texted back on my ancient flip phone. I didn't call them until I was in NJ and sent them a few pics of my new home. I told them I was an adult and this was my choice.
Indeed I lived the most punk rock lifestyle for about a year, got jobs at a pizza place and record store and went to multiple shows a week, met tons of touring bands staying with us, went on a few carpools to NYC and some fests...it was the best year of my life. I flew back for Xmas at some relatives in MN and met my parents for the first time in months. They were happy I was doing well but upset I did that. I explained this was the life I wanted.
Anyway it kind of ended badly, moved in with a girl, shit got bad, I had to couchsurf a few months and went back home. At 21 I ended up moving out again and going to a tech school in Mpls where I reside today, much closer to my parents who I now regularly see.
They still seem resentful. And once out told me I was an idiot for moving to a house I had never been to with people I never met in real life. But what was I to do? I was an adult and it was my right to escape my boring life.
So AITA? My parents have forgiven me but will hold that I was to their graves no doubt.

2020.01.29 18:37 Kissanthrope TL, DR: My ex ghosted me is now fucking with me and I'm hella triggered.

Back Story: I dated someone for nearly a year. It turned toxic and my BPD traits started to come out a lot. I'm usually pretty good at managing them but I tend to struggle when the other party isn't trying to understand me - which I'm sure makes sense. Like, I know when how I'm viewing things doesn't make sense but I just need the other person to say something along the lines of, "Hey, I see where you're coming from even though that's not how the situation looks in my mind." I think that's fair to ask of a partner. Let's just talk about it where we're at and move forward from there.
I ended things with that partner back in October for a lot of various reasons but a lot of what was going on above. It was hard but I was aiming to stay friends. He kept asking if he saw us getting back together and I told him I was unsure and listed the reasons why I felt that way. Something in that answer led him to unfriend me on social media - which is fine, but I personally thought I deserved a heads up about it. After all we had been together for almost a year and friends before that. I tried to call him about it. I tried to text him about it. He cut communication completely and ghosted me. No explanation. This triggered my fear of abandonment and I'm not proud of how I responded to it. I felt crazy over the next couple weeks. I nearly checked myself into a hospital because I was feeling unsafe being alone with myself.
Some time went on and I started therapy again. I eventually started to feel like myself and more in control of my emotions etc. Fast forward to Xmas Eve. I received a text message from him - mind you this is after ghosting me for two months and me losing my mind and reaching out to him many times. I basically said 'fuck you' to his text and the back and forth went on for about a week. He was trying to reconcile - said he 'liked that I was working on myself'. I was very clear in my replies that there was no longer room for him in my life. He's blocked on social media as a way to not be triggered by his existence. He knows I've blocked him for that reason.
Current Situation: We both play an arcade game competitively and travel around the country to play in tournaments and visit with the friends we've made doing so. It's actually how we met - our relationship was long distance. He's located in CLT, NC and I'm in MPLS, MN. I told him in one of the emails after he tried to reconcile with me that I'm avoiding tournaments I know he'll be at in fear of being triggered by him and spiraling back into that bad headspace again.
I found out yesterday that he last minute decided to go to the tournament I'm playing in this weekend. It's in PHX, AZ. I thought I was safe by not going to tournaments on the East Coast. He signed up AFTER registration has ended. He KNOWS I'll be there. His team was just thrown together last minute. The fact he's decided last minute to go really makes me question his intentions of going. I'm hella triggered over this. I had an anxiety attack yesterday and felt sick about it. I hate that he still has this power over me. I don't feel safe going anymore and that pisses me off a lot.

2020.01.25 18:29 gentfede Bare IpSec VPN. Device from VPN can reach LAN (+internet), but the LAN cannot connect to VPN device

Hello everyone,
I have setup a bare IpSec VPN on my Mikrotik HAP AC. I use it to connect from my Android phone to my home network.
It works insofar that the connection is established, and the Android phone can reach devices on the local LAN and the internet (but not the router interface). However, it doesn't work the other way round: devices from the LAN cannot connect to the Android phone! However, I need this for certain applications.
I'm sure it must be some (minor) thing misconfigured or missing from my firewall rules I assume?
I'd be super grateful if some of you could take a look at my config below to see if you can spot any problems. Since I'm not an expert, I'd also be super grateful if you could alert me about other potential issues (specifically security issues ...) you might spot.

Thanks a bunch!!

2019.12.04 00:30 babelphishy Passed Advanced Networking Specialty

Just passed the Advanced Networking Specialty Exam a couple hours ago, they emailed me my scores right away:
Overall Score: 90%
Topic Level Scoring: 1.0 Design and implement hybrid IT network architectures at scale: 83% 2.0 Design and implement AWS networks: 100% 3.0 Automate AWS tasks: 75% 4.0 Configure network integration with application services: 85% 5.0 Design and implement for security and compliance: 83% 6.0 Manage, optimize, and troubleshoot the network: 100%
As some background, I've worked in AWS exclusively in a developedevops role for three years now, and I've been a professional software developer for 18. I had a reasonable background in networking before starting to study for this exam, although I had no experience at the enterprise architecture level. Things like BGP and MPLS were completely foreign.
This was my first attempt at this certification (or any certification). I started several months ago with the Official AWS Study guide and plodded through the chapters, doing my best not to skip any exercises. If it said to review an FAQ, I did that, and then researched anything that was unfamiliar. This can be a really tedious process but there are a wide range of topics that require mastery to correctly answer the questions.
Once I finished the book, I started on the free AWS training video. The presenter has a charming accent and is engaging, but the videos could probably stand to be broken up more. Somewhere in the middle of that I started ACG's Advanced Networking video course, which is excellent and I definitely recommend. All of these resources are slightly dated, but that did not end up being an issue in the exam. I saw someone recommend their IPv6 course so I consumed most of that right before the exam, which helped a bit as well.
Finally, I took all three Whizlabs exams to test my knowledge and reviewed correct and incorrect answers. In some cases the grammar issues made the questions unnecessarily difficult or ambiguous, but I still recommend them to round things out.
If you intend to attack this exam, I strongly recommend that you consume everything you can get your hands on, and then focus your memorization on what various services can and cannot do. Being able to eliminate impossible answers is absolutely critical to a good score.
The actual exam was difficult and draining but none of the questions seemed unfair or ambiguous. I finished my first pass at answers with 40 minutes left, and finished reviewing my flagged answers with 15 minutes to spare. Seeing I passed was an enormous relief, I had invested so much time and energy at that point.
Good luck to anyone else who is pursuing this! My last piece of advice is to give yourself a lot of time to digest and study a little bit each day rather than trying to cram.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I listened to NET4XX re:invent videos in podcast format from 2018/2017. The Direct Connect Deep Dive is really good, worth two listens.
Also read a few networking whitepapers.

2019.10.29 18:54 DarthPiette Date ideas in/near Downtown MPLS?

Going on a second date on Thursday and could use some help with ideas as to what to do in and around the downtown area. I live in Shoreview and the woman I'll be seeing lives right in downtown.
Looking for stuff on the cheaper side. Don't want to give her the impression that I can constantly afford fancy places.

Ccie lab dumps SD-WAN and SDN differences
Software Defined Network (SDN) is a new type of network architecture that implements separate network control and forwarding to form a logically centralized unified controller. In turn, the software programmable interface is opened on the controller for service call, and the purpose of flexible configuration of the network is achieved. In the cloud computing data center, ccie lab dumps.providing virtual resource services is its most important technical realization, and the network is also provided as a service to customers. The network needs to provide dynamic, on-demand, isolated network environment and custom network service chain connection services for different users and applications. These are the traditional network architectures that cannot be met, and SDN was born because of this.ccie lab dumps
Although SDN was not born for a long time, it has been greatly developed. SDN-related startups have sprung up, and traditional network equipment vendors have thrown olive branches to SDN.Major data centers and network operators have launched technical research and various attempts at SDN, with the intention of being able to make a big difference in the era of SDN.SDN already has a relatively complete technical system support, and the Openflow protocol is the core technology of its implementation. However, because everyone has different understandings of SDN, the implemented controller software can only control their own hardware devices, and can not form generalized software. This is also achieved in order to get competitive advantage, exclude other software manufacturers, and obtain more markets, which makes SDN technology landing slower, affecting the development of SDN to some extent.Even so, SDN is still developing rapidly in technical theory, and soon it also has SD-WAN and SD-branch.ccie lab dumps
The full name of SD-WAN is a wide-area software-defined network. In 2015, it became a hot topic in SDN technology, and the first SD-WAN product appeared on the market.SD-WAN inherits the concept of SDN control and forwarding separation and centralized control. It deploys SDN technology in WAN network, mainly uses software advantages to improve network performance and reduce cost, while ensuring security and stability and easy deployment. The basic principle of SD-WAN can be understood as establishing a "virtual network" on top of one or more different physical networks or network services, as long as the mapping between virtual and physical can be done. There is no need to know what technology is being used for things inside and outside the virtual network. In the past, we mentioned that SDN is mainly used in data centers and LANs, and SD-WAN extends SDN to WANs.There are many protocols in the WAN that are different from the Ethernet protocols in the LAN, so it is not a simple migration, but a specific design for the WAN.SD-WAN can operate by measuring basic network traffic metrics such as latency, packet loss, jitter, and availability. With this data, SD-WAN can actively respond to real-time network conditions and select the best path for each packet.SD-WAN has a central controller concept for global network visibility.Network administrators use the controller architecture to create policies and allow the system to take action without explicit manual change control. This controller platform performs policy-based forwarding based on current WAN conditions and complete information on enterprise application preferences, enabling immediate global changes without the need to manually log in to each router.ccie lab dumps
differences:
Ø SD-WAN is focused on providing software-defined application routing for WAN or WAN, as well as connecting geographically distributed locations (headquarters, data centers, branch offices, remote and mobile users), national or global bases. On the other hand, SDN is mainly concentrated in the LAN (local) or the core network of the service provider.
Ø SDN can be fully programmed by the customer or user and allows for efficient change and configuration management. Although SD-WAN is built on SDN technology, SD-WAN vendors handle programming behind the scenes, eliminating the complexity of end users.
Ø SDN focuses on the internal network, whether it is a LAN or a core service provider network. While SD-WAN is focused on connecting the network to the user over the WAN.
Ø SDN is supported by NFV, Network Function Virtualization, which provides a variety of virtualized network functions through software that have been built into proprietary closed systems to date.In contrast, SD-WAN provides software-defined application routing that can be virtualized or virtualized or run on SD-WAN devices.
The technology behind SD-WAN changes the paradigm from a packet-based network routing system to an application-based routing system. This enables organizations to use consumer-grade broadband Internet with improved quality and performance, and importantly, the cost per megabyte is lower than the cost of using MPLS previously.SD-WAN also provides flexibility and flexibility while maintaining centralized, predefined business policies and controlling the way applications are routed. The resulting visibility and control allows you to identify applications running on the WAN and set policies for their priority and usage.SD-WAN also uses dynamic WAN selection to route these applications through the best performing path.In addition, SD-WAN allows you to use multiple available links in an "active/active" configuration to provide load balancing and failover with virtually no perceptual disruption. Traffic between sites flows through dynamic, fully encrypted tunnels and can be segmented to provide a high level of security.ccie lab dumps
SDN is no longer an Ethernet network technology, but all network protocols rely on its development technology, such as storage networks. Software definition concepts have been introduced early, and almost all aspects of the data center are related to software definition. .SDN technology is a global and disruptive network transformation technology. It uses IT technology to transform traditional closed networks, which brings opportunities for network development.ccie lab dumps

2019.09.23 23:36 gargravarr2112 ISPs - S gonna HTF tomorrow, wish me luck...

So, backstory, we moved into this office in September last year. Despite extensive efforts, for love nor money we could not get anyone to give us a fibre connection for move-in. Nobody would commit despite glowing fibres already in the server room. And after 3 weeks on a rented 4G system (which I can't fault, it worked very well), we finally said, F it, we'll take on the contract for the previous company.
The previous company was a games firm with multiple offices. They had a high-end MPLS connection from a reseller. Even this was farcical - we got the new router, but the company had taken the NTE.. to San Francisco...
Eventually we got a working fibre line and it has been brilliant, but it's overkill and costing us accordingly - 4 figures per month. And as nice as it is to say we have a 1Gbps fibre line, the only thing I've been able to max it out with is Steam.
By this point, we managed to get one of the uncooperative suppliers to install a backup connection for us. We elected to take the connections from separate providers in case billing messes up or some other common factor hits. So we have a backup fibre line, a comfortable 300Mbps.
With that in place, we started shopping. The reseller wouldn't go much lower, so we went to the provider they resold. Initially this company wanted 180 working days from contract signature to give us a connection. Now, they're much more amiable to giving us service. We settle on the same 300Mbps as the backup line, with the idea of load balancing the two if it becomes necessary. Technician visits, agrees everything is in order, even promises a rack kit for the NTE. We sign the contract with service starting on the 23rd September, and give notice to the reseller to switch over then.
I get a few emails which I answer quickly. However, between other responsibilities, I generally assume things are ticking along as they should be. Only today do I look up and realise something important - it's switchover day, and the ISP hasn't sent the replacement router. We need to send the reseller's back. Further, there have been no phone calls about switchover from the techs. I phone our account manager. To nobody's surprise, no answer, so I leave a message, which isn't returned. I'm there til 9pm. Nothing.
One thing I'm sure I can count on, though, is the reseller contract expiring at midnight. Our backup line has been tested but we all know, these things only go fully wrong when you need to rely on them. So it's going to be an early one for me tomorrow.
We endured 5 months of absolute absurdity trying to arrange this in the first place. The backup ISP also took a lot of crayons/very slow explanation of what we wanted. Every stage of this contract, we were promised a switchover date of the 23rd September. I am completely unsurprised at the result. Why are business ISPs so completely incompetent? Seriously?
